Hair Tutorial 1 - Black Hair

Well I'm back with another tutorial..this time for hair..I've had requests for  different colours so today's is "BLACK HAIR".... I recommend using a good quality card as i do tend to lay quite a lot of colour down and you don't want it to bleed.. I prefer craftworks digital smooth but there are many other's out there...

I've used the following colours....Soft Mauve Flex Marker and the following ProMarkers.. Ice Grey 1 to 5, Cool Grey 5 and Black..and I'm again colouring the gorgeous "Smashy Bob" from Saturated Canary


don't worry if you don't have the same greys..work light to dark and if necessary build your lightest shade up first :0)

First of all I cover the whole of the area I'm colouring with Soft Mauve..it give's you a base layer to help blend your colours and add's extra dimension :0)....

....next up i add the Ice Grey 1 using small flicking actions...

...I then repeat with Ice Grey 2....

..Ice Grey 3...

...Ice Grey 4...

...and Ice Grey 5...

....then to add extra depth i go in with Cool Grey 5..

i then start working back over the area repeating the colours...

..I then go in with a little Black..but not too much...

and again go over the entire image always using a flicking motion -  this will add texture to the hair as you don't want to overblend :0)

i do the next part of the hair in sections...

if it helps use one of the darker greys to add sections...

..and when your finished it should look something like this....

Basic Skin Tutorial

I often get asked about the Pro Marker colours i use for skin..

so here's a quick tut on what works best for me :0)

these are my preferred colours

I start by going around the edges and what I think will be the darkest areas with Coral..also adding line where the nose is to help add extra depth

next up I bring the colour in further with Sunkissed Pink....you don't have to be too neat as we will blend at the end

I then add colour to the cheeks with Baby Pink...

and finally i go over the whole area with Putty...

and that's the basics....the gorgeous image is "Smashy Bob" from Saturated Canary :0)

..as I've said before I'm no expert this is just how i do it ..hope it helps..

Happy Easter

Well I did my last shift at work today for a whole week...yay!!!..so I'm having a rest and putting the craft stuff away for a few days...but before i do I've a couple more Easter Cards to share :0)

 I've coloured with Copic Ciao, Flex and ProMarkers...the papers are MME *thinks??...Bloom and Grow??...

the cards are for a brother and sister so the Wryn image from Tiddly inks was perfect for my second card...

she's also coloured with a mix of markers and the papers are Forever Friends :0)

First Redonkulous DT Card

Yay..my first posting for Rendonkulous Designs!!..I just love Sheryl's fabulous images :0)..

Today I'm showcasing "Birthday Kisses"..how cute??...

I've coloured the image with a mix of Copic Ciao, Flex and ProMarkers..the gorgeous papers were cut from some 12" x 12" i had..the presents were also cut from the paper..a few flat backed pearls and twine and we're finished....I wanted to keep it fairly simple as i wanted the super cute image to be the main focus :0)

Dream Valley Challenges - Weddings

I'm Back..this time with my Dream Valley DT card..this weeks theme is "Weddings" in honour of our very own teamie Mel who get's married TODAY!!..hope you have an amazing day hon :0)

I've kept it pretty simple..the image is LOTV and I've coloured with a mix of Copic Ciao, Pro and Flex markers..the swirly paper is already embossed and glittered so I've just added some lace and a few pearls :0)

Bling It On - Monochrome

Morning..my first post today is to share my final DT project for Bling It On..the theme this month is Monochrome and i've made another ickle tag :0)

the image is a Simply Sassy Stamp - Vintage Boutique available from Funky Kits coloured with PM's and I've added a little bling and a MIC Cog Chippie which are available here..the tag is a die and it's finished with a little lace tie .. the papers are Bo Bunny :0)
